THE KING IS DEAD!!!

From my perspective, this is a relevant game. This game showed us how the colonists in America had to live with taxation without representation. Since we were the colonists in the game, we didn't have many chances to earn money. Therefore, we had no money to pay the taxes. Many of us were sent off to Georgia and some of us went on the treason list. The king was an exceptional example of tyranny. He ruled us in a manner of how King George the third would have treated the colonists of America. There was a lot of injustice with us. Our rights were taken away from us and we were taxed for no good reason. Towards the mid game some had self-determination to try to steal money from the king. We tried many times and failed. After the king caught us we were put on the treason list. After the king died we had all the money to ourselves and all the Taxes were repealed. THE KING DIED!!!

The 43rd war post

My partner and I strongly believe that this war took place in El Salvador. One reason is because tortillas and beans is a typical Central American dish. Another reason is that El Salvador has been having political problems for the past 12 years. 43 wars is possible to happen in that time span. Most of El Salvador’s population is Christian and in the book, whenever one used to die they put a cross gravestone with it. These are some reasons why my partner and I believe that this war took place in El Salvador.

The Declaration of Independence

When it becomes necessary for politics to separate the people, they should have a reason for doing it. All men are created equal and when the government doesn’t believe in that, it is our right and duty to change the government. Safety and happiness are your rights. You can only change the government when situations get really bad. King George has been unjust to us and it is our right and duty to change his government.

King George the third did much unjust with the colonists. Some of them were taxing them without their consent, for taking their lives and burning their cities and homes, cutting of their trade with the rest of the world. There were also some more such as, fighting against them, for taking away their rights, and also allowed many soldiers to do whatever they wanted to. For these reasons America changed their government.

We have tried all we could, by signing petitions and every time we did that, we were answered by injuries. It is our right to take away the rule of King George the third. Therefore, we the representatives of the United States of America, with the consent of all colonies and their people, come to an agreement that we have the right to be independent.

To be a Slave Response

I believe that some evidence given in this book are truth and fair. Julius Lester gives citations after every interview that he got from the library of congress. The library of congress is in itself a very trustworthy source. I believe that the part about keeping the slave in the galley is true. Ball pp. 159-160. Some parts are true and some parts are bias. The conditions of the journey were not good but I am sure that there would be a reason into bringing them. They say in the book that some conditions weren't as bad as the others. Some wanted to go back, Charley Williams Botkin pp.110. Picture by http://www.sitemason.com/files/faEsSY/slaves.jpg

Great Powers Game Debrief

1. We were Great Britain and it felt great building our empire. I think that those countries that had a good army at the start of the game had quite an advantage because they didn't have to worry about other countries attacking them. Our country had a lot of economic points and there for throughout most of the game we were the richest.

2. I believe that buying armies and industries was fairly important. 1 army was two navies and colonies went with industries.

3. We spent a lot on armies and industries. if i was to play this game again, then I wouldn't bother buying any navies.

4. Austria Hungry were our best allies. They stuck with us till the end. They were the only ones we could trust. Germany and Italy back-stabbed us in the end when we needed help.

5. I learnt that conflict can end up into a great war. I also learned that many conflicts can arise when you just have simple misunderstandings. Finally, I learned that it's better to stay out of conflicts because you end up losing your part of the share along with the others.

Goals for Quarter 3

For the goals I set for quarter 2, I think that met most of my goals. I have started to concentrate more, and i have started to write neater. I can still work on getting better grades on my tests.

Three new goals for quarter 3 are that I would like to work more on my social studies skills, finish my AR before the deadline, and I would like to work on introducing new ideas and questions to my group in Socratic Seminars. I can start reading ahead of time to finish my AR, do better in social studies projects, and I can make a better prep for my Socratic Seminars.
